Personal Statement

My name is Alexey Stout. I am currently a Senior at The Peddie School. I am primarily a Short Stop but have also played 2nd Base. Ever since I learned about baseball it has been my ultimate dream to play at the next level. My aspirations is to find a school that I feel comfortable in and earn a business degree while also playing that game I love so much.

What really sets me apart from other good candidates is my overall work ethic. I take a lot of pride in getting my mind and body in shape for the season. Spending countless hours training in the off-season and continuing it in the regular season. I try and get into the cages or on a field almost every day, while also getting many reps in the weight room. I also take a lot of pride in my nutrition as well. I want to make sure I am in a good, healthy condition to play. I am a positive influence to the teams that I have played for and the team I am on now. I love to grind and get to work with my teammates and push myself to be the best.

What makes me different  is my impact on the game.  Every time I step on the field, in between those white lines, it's serious baseball till the end. I love to fire up the team in the dugout, get my teammates excited to play, and just have fun. I am also the same exact way in the classroom. Grades are very important to me because it lets me know that I am working hard and they keep me focused while continuing my growth.

  • Alexey is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. Athletic build with plenty of room to add throughout. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. At SS, he showed athletic actions with active/efficient feet. Good crossover step, with ability to pick out hops, while creating good fielding angles. Works into a athletic/low fielding position while fielding the baseball out front. Good body control as he plays through the baseball. Good footwork and glove actions to his backhand side. Short/quick arm action, with ability to throw from multiple arm angles, and an arm velocity of 87mph. Accurate/on-line throws across diamond, with a quick release, and good touch on his DP feeds. A right-handed hitter who hits from a square and athletic stance. Good hand separation, with a short/direct path, and ability to stay through the baseball. High finish, with good extension, and the ball jumps off his bat. During his round of BP, he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity of 90mph. With continued development, we foresee him having opportunities to play at the next level.

  • Alexey Stout is a 5-11, 165LB 2022 SS/2B. Athletic build with broad shoulders and room to fill out. Primary SS with quick/fluid footwork that allows him to move laterally. Plays low and does a good job of keeping eyes behind the ball. Clean through the exchange to the throwing hand and threw from multiple arm angles. Arm strength to make plays in the hole as Alexey threw it 86mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with loose hands and square/athletic stance. Hits into a firm frontside with good extension. On plane swing who squared up balls consistently during his BP round. Power will continue to improve with strength.
