If I were to choose one thing I could point to and say “this made me who I am today”, it would be baseball. This is what made it such a simple decision when I decided I would like to play baseball at the collegiate level.
Beyond simply being an everyday part of my life, my passion for the sport has taught me many valuable life lessons. Baseball has taught me that failure isn’t an end, but a critical component of growth and improvement. It has taught me that success is never guaranteed, but comes as a result of hard work and perseverance. Baseball has also taught me how to work as a team, the importance of being a good and supportive teammate and what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.
While I have learned these values from baseball, their true importance is how they translate to how I conduct myself both on and off the field. I pride myself on being a kind, honest, hardworking person academically, socially, and athletically.
Overall, I believe that the true strengths of a baseball player are things that can't be quantified with a radar gun or a camera. I believe my work ethic, integrity and team focus, combined with my skill, determination and intensity, are the perfect ingredients for a college baseball player and would make me a valuable addition to any college program.
