Nick Yaccarino '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing competitive baseball since the age of 7.  I fell in love with the game after watching video's of my grandfather Daniel Yaccarino win the LLWS in1964 for Mid-island (Staten Island) .

My coaches describe  me as the team leader, coachable and respectful.  I understand this is a game of failure therefore I understand the importance of always displaying confidence.  I believe this game has made me mentally tough and I actually look forward to being put into pressure situations, such as closing important games.  

Through out my grade school years I played travel baseball with my club team and always played middle infield. Within the last few years I have transitioned to only playing shortstop because I have become stronger.   I train all winter with my club team, which includes baseball skills, speed & agility training and most recently started strength training.  My goal is to get stronger and faster.

I finished up my sophomore year where I pitched and played the middle infield for my high school team. I am currently a two-way player and plan on trusting the process to determine which position will help me be most successful in getting to the next level.  My goal is to play baseball at a college where I can obtain a college degree. 

One lesson I have learned from playing baseball all these years is that you have to work hard to be successful and I have to trust the development process.
