My name is Stephen Devanney. I am a member of the class of 2024 at Pitman High School. I am a right handed pitcher and play 1st base as a secondary position.
My love of baseball started early at around 3 or 4 years old. A bat in my hand always felt right. When I was old enough to play on a team at 5 years old my town only offered T-ball. Nothing wrong with T-ball but I needed more. My parents found a coach pitch team outside of our town and from there I never stopped playing/competing. When I was about 7 or 8 years old I started to attend the Phillies Baseball Academy every summer until I aged out of the program at 14. It was at the Phillies Academy that my love for pitching was born. One of the coaches suggested I try pitching after he saw me perform behind the plate and at 1st base. That's when I knew pitching was going to be the position I excel at.
I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically and most important academically. I believe I have the talent and work ethic to compete at the college level.
