My name is Teddy Durbin, and I'm a 6’2” 180 lb left handed pitcher. I'm truly dedicated to this sport and an athlete who loves the game of baseball. My favorite accomplishments include: winning Varsity pitcher of the year as a sophomore; my team placing 5th in the nation at the 15U Babe Ruth World Series in Tennessee this past summer; my Little League Intermediate District Team finishing 3rd in the State of New Jersey in 2015; and finally receiving the Jim Davis Sportsmanship Award from Princeton Little League in 2014. I have been on the varsity baseball team at Princeton High School since my sophomore year. I’ve also learned how fortunate I am to be able to play baseball and even potentially be a player who can play at the next level. Just before my freshman year, I grew seven inches, which caused me to have an inflamed growth plate in my shoulder. As a result, while I was able to play freshman year, I had to go on a restricted throwing program for the spring season and most of the summer. I was not able to pitch, which is the thing I love to do the most. Going through that experience, I saw that I needed to change my mindset and my work ethic. I embraced year-round arm care training and full body strength and conditioning during the off-season. There is no doubt in my mind that without that experience, I wouldn’t be the same player today.
When it comes to choosing a college or university, I am currently looking on the east coast and at some southern states. However, I am open to going anywhere. My goal at the end of the day is to find a college or university where I can receive an excellent education and play for a strong baseball program.
