My name is Robert Gonzalez. I am a Junior at Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, NJ. My primary position is Shortstop, but I can play both corner infield positions and can cover a lot of ground in the outfield. I feel that by playing different positions, it allows me to develop and be a more versatile player. My goals are to continue to improve my skills to the point where I can help my school team win, be the best in the game and to be given the opportunity to play college baseball. I have been working very hard with the support of my parents and coaches to reach this goal. Personally, academics are very important to me, so a school that can offer the best package of academic and athletic opportunity is ideal. I am extremely motivated and take great pride in getting good grades, often making honor roll and looking always to challenge myself in the classroom. Although, I have always wanted to compete at a Division 1 level, I have learned through conversations with scouts and mentors that there is excellent baseball to be played in all divisions. I am looking for a team where I can continue to grow under experienced coaches, continue to acquire leadership skills, while playing at a high level of competitive baseball. I am therefore open to any school that will give me the opportunity to show my talent and dedication to the sport that I love.
