TY Akins '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ty Akins. I attend Somerville High School in Somerville, NJ. I play baseball for my school team and play club baseball for Zoned Redhawks in Bridgewater, NJ. I am a LHP and First baseman. My father attended West Virginia University and played football there. My mom did not attend college. I am the middle child of 3 boys. My older brother's name is AJ and he attended Kutztown University and is finishing up college at Rowan University. He played football at both schools. My younger brother's name is Peyton and he is currently in the 5th grade. He plays both football and baseball. My collegiate goal and aspiration is to compete at the highest level. What makes me an ideal candidate and sets me apart from others is my overall work ethic in academics and athletics.
