Hello, my name is Nate, aka “Nate the Great”. I have been playing baseball on a consistent basis at a high level since I was nine years old. I played on Travel Teams where I was always one of the top players. My main position is 2nd base, which I love to play and am very good because of my skill set, speed, and high IQ, but I have also played outfield. Versatility is one of the aspects I can bring to a college baseball team. Whatever position I am asked to play, I can perform and thrive at a high level so as to contribute to the overall success of the team. I am a team player because I come from a Family Oriented Home and have always striven to support and encourage my teammates (brothers).
Some of my accomplishments have been winning fastest man at the Cooperstown Tournament, making the NTIS Northeast region team where I played in a National tournament in Cary, NC the home of the USA Olympic Baseball team. From the metrics that were given to us I was also the fastest person at the twenty-team tournament. I have played on Nationally ranked travel teams where I played in many high-end tournaments. I was called up to start on my High Scholl’s Varsity team as a freshman. My sophomore year, I was slated to start but the season was cut short due to COVID-19. My junior year I started center field and was hitting in the leadoff position.
I come from a Family where Education is heavily encouraged and stressed. My academic goal is to achieve a degree in Psychology in undergrad and grad school so that I can become a family counselor. I was also raised with a strong work ethic where always striving to improve is the mantra. I look for solutions instead of complaining and believe that if there is a will there is a way!
I have always wanted to play baseball at the highest level possible and am confident because of the countless personal hours of work I have put in that I can not only play at the college level but also contribute in a major way. I love to play baseball and when I am giving my all that is where the joy sets in. Baseball is not my life but an aspect of it. I approach all my facets of life (God, Family, School, Friendships, and Baseball) the same way. Great attitude, confidence, and hard work!!!
Baseball talent is my gift from God and I have always striven to make the most of it and will continue to do so. If I am fortunate enough to play for your team, I am certain we will all benefit.
