I’ve been playing baseball since I was 5 and throughout the years, no matter how many little league championships or tournaments I’ve won, I have grown as a student athlete. Baseball has showed me how to grow from a child and into a young man and has helped me develop skills that are essential to my life and have helped me succeed. My dad’s love for baseball influenced me into playing baseball and I appreciate him for introducing me to such an important aspect in my life. My parents have been the most influential people in not only baseball, but also in my life. Life hasn’t been easy, as we have faced many financial and personal obstacles, but baseball has helped me through those difficulties and obstacles. By playing baseball, I’ve learned that I’m a very supportive person, as I try to help my teammates and friends, improve in baseball and life. I’ve learned that I’m dedicated at what interests me and what I love doing, which includes playing baseball and that I posses leadership skills that will help make an impact on a team.
Though baseball has been a pivotal part of my life, academics is also one of the most important things to me in finding the best college for me and in life. My high school academics have been successful so far, and I plan on majoring in Journalism in college. I plan on majoring in Journalism because I love to write, read, research, debate, and read news that involve politics or sports. As my journey continues, I am looking for a program that is a good fit me academically and athletically. My character, dedication, hard work, talent, and leadership will make an immediate impact on your program and I’m excited for this journey.
Here is a written evaluation created by Baseball Factory coaches after playing in the Christmas Camp that took place in Pirate City, Bradenton, Florida:
“Sebastian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.”
