Hi my names Dakota Smothergill and I'm from Long Island New York, my one true passion is baseball I live love and breathe it, while playing baseball all the time I also coach my own team and help my dad run the travel league he operates, I've been playing ever since the age of 5 and I've accomplished some great things however I haven't been recognized by scouts and I'm not to sure why, I believe that I have the qualities to be a very successful college athlete and I would like to prove my worth to scouts worldwide. The only major weakness I have is my poor grades and attendance I'm the first to admit I have failed to do my class work to the best of my ability and I realize this will hurt me during the recruiting process in the next 2 years I'll work hard to become a great student athlete and not just an athlete. I'm hoping colleges will be able to overlook my failure so far, if a college is willing to give me a chance I'll not only be very grateful for the opportunity to play college baseball a lifelong dream of mine but I will also work hard become a good teammate and make sure I do my part to help the program as best as I possibly can.
