my name is Ian Jenkins and Baseball has influenced not just who I am but it has influenced my image, character,my life as a whole.
Baseball was always an interesting game to me, but by far, it’s the most interesting out of all the sports I tried, such as, basketball, football, soccer etc. What really got me interested in baseball was going to my older brother’s games and watching him and his team compete on the field. I thought to myself that this really is a cool game and I like it and think I want to play this game in the long run.
What I can say I have learned playing this sport, is that the game will humble you,so you have to learn how to accept the game for what it is; baseball.
As far as high school is concerned, my goals are to, work hard in the classroom and be able to get on the field so I can prove that I can be somebody in this sport. My ultimate goal is to finish my high school career as a shining example of what a student athlete is, on and off the field and hopefully receive an offer to play college baseball as well as continue my academic career.
The main obstacle that I have had to overcome to get where I am now is injuries. These various injuries have made me miss vital time that I could have been working out and getting better knowledge of the game, but as fate would have it that just wasn’t in the cards for me.
I have a unique skill or mind set that allows me to be me when everyone is trying to stop you, and to do that I have always followed this: (ASAP);Always Strived And Prosper. That simply means to try your very best at everything and let greatness take its affect.
