My name is Wood Trowell and I live in Windsor NC. My high school years, I attended Lawrence Academy until my junior year when I transferred to Riverside High School. Lawrence had 6 state championships under our belt. I was moved up as an 8th grader to catch bull pens and to get experience throwing as an 8th grader. That Summer I played Junior Legion; I was one of the youngest on the team and found myself in some games pitching against some big kids. This experience really pushed me to want to learn new pitches, improve on my changeup. I pushed myself and continued with pitching lessons that summer. I needed and wanted to get better and grow. Freshman and sophomore year our team made it to state championship final games twice. I pitched and caught in both tournaments. Being so close to a State win times 2 built in me again, more thirst to want to play and to continue to work harder. I moved to Riverside High School this year as a junior. I left the familiar territory and my position to go fight for one at another school. I know to move up to the next level I will have to compete and work hard for a spot. I want to play and I am committed to reaching the next level.
