Personal Statement

My ultimate goal is to one day get drafted into the MLB. I know that the statistics and probability of that are low. The odds may be stacked against me but that is my DREAM! I know that getting to that level is going to be a grind. It will take dedication and sacrifice beyond what the ordinary player is willing to do. I plan to overcome the immeasurable odds.

When I was ten years old our travel baseball team placed third in the Nations Baseball State Tournament in Ohio out of a lot of teams. That’s when I started to realize that baseball could hopefully take me far in life and I never looked back. I became passionate about baseball at a young age, everyday I would go out in the backyard and hit. My dad would throw to me as I tried to hit each pitch as far as I possibly could. Soon I needed to get a new bat as my old one became full of dents!

For twelve years of my life I wrestled. Those twelve years I played baseball in the spring/summer and wrestled in the fall/winter.  I decided that I wanted to focus on baseball. Now I can focus on growing, getting bigger, faster, and stronger while improving my baseball skills year round. I believe baseball will take me far in life with hard work and dedication and I am more than willing to put in the work!

Throughout my career in baseball, I have found out that failure is OK, especially in a game known for failure. You can go 4-10 and fail 6 times and still be considered one the best to play the game. That’s what I love about baseball. In addition, you don’t have to be big to play this game, it’s about being a baseball player, being strong, athletic, and having good baseball instincts. All of those characteristics in which I have.

I want to find a school that fits my needs as a student and as an athlete, preparing me for the future. You will find that I have the talent to compete to my best ability, the character to do the right things, a strong work-ethic, and the leadership skills necessary to make an immediate positive impact in your program.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my personal statement. Thank you!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
