Personal Statement

It has always been a dream of mine to play college baseball ever since I began playing the game. From Little League to where I am now and beyond, I strive to be the best baseball player and student I can be. In the 2021 high school baseball season, I broke the school record for runs scored in one season (44). Also, I slashed .391/.556/.587 with 11 XBH, 19 SB (1 CS), and 30 BB in 30 varsity games (127 PA) as a sophomore. In the classroom, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA since the fourth grade and I have participated in the ACSI National Spelling Bee twice. I am also a dual-sport athlete, as I am a three year varsity starter on the Unioto High School soccer team, a team that has won back-to-back District Championships and went to the Division II Final Four State Tournament this fall.

Through sports and school, I have learned the importance of teamwork, responsibility, accountability, and dedication. I am looking for a collegiate program that will suit me academically and athletically. I believe I don't just have the talent to play collegiate baseball, but I also have the work-ethic, character, and leadership abilities to make an instant impression on your program. As a dual-sport athlete and an all "A" honor roll student, I have full confidence that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!

Micah Geise: OF/SS, (2023) Unioto, OH. 6-foot-1, 175-pound. During batting practice, Geise displayed an exit velocity of 96 mph, Highest at the event. (70.1 mph bat speed average). (22.1 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, displays a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 85 mph. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 80 mph; showed soft hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.75 60-yard dash.

Micah is an athletic OF who is a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers (6.97 60 time) a lot of ground. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (82 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (86 mph exit velocity) as he connects with gap to gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Micah has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities. Micah Geise: SS/OF, (2023) Unioto, OH. 6-foot-1, 165-pound athletic frame. Solid during batting practice, Geise clocked an exit velocity of 88 mph. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a toe tap. Had quick bat speed and a level swing plane. Found multiple barrels in his round. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 78 mph; has athletic feet, consistent hands, and a natural exchange. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.15.

Hit: Fast twitch athlete with all the tools you'd want at the plate. Has some minor things to button up but the natural tools are obvious. The jump was real when he connected. Power: Easy gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles. Good athlete with burst. Field: Rangy defender with above average lateral mobility. Ball skills are ahead of the curve. Throw: Clean arm with more strength to come. Defensive Projection: Multiple spots.
