Ethan Canterbury '20 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a junior at Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio.  I am a 6'0", 185 lb. middle infielder who bats and throws right handed.  In my freshman year at Findlay, I started at second base on our junior varsity team and hit in the top of the lineup. Towards the end of the season I played in multiple varsity games at second base.   As a sophomore I was slated to be the starting second baseman on varsity, but I missed the season due to injury. In the off season, I knew it was important to hit the weight room and put in extra time and work to make up for missing the season.  I am currently the starting second baseman for my varsity team and am batting leadoff.  I have played several sports in addition to baseball including basketball, soccer, and football, but from an early age, baseball has been my passion. There is no where I would rather be than on the baseball field.  I feel that I am very coachable because I can take constructive criticism and will work hard to make the necessary adjustments in my game.  I am a team player and will fill whatever role my coach and team needs to benefit the team.  I get along with my coaches and teammates while giving 100%.  Whatever team I am with (high school, travel, fall ball), it has been very natural for me to transition/adapt to the team and feel comfortable.  I am a very hard worker and believe that putting in extra time in the weight room and at practice will help me make a big impact in games as well as improve my strength, speed and all around play.  I currently have a 3.67 GPA and a 23 on my ACT.  I plan to consider a college that fits me academically as well as athletically and one that has a balance between academics and athletics.  When in college I plan to major in Sports Management or Marketing.  It is my goal to play baseball at the highest level possible and achieve success on the field as well as in the classroom.
