Since the age of three, I have been rounding the bases on a baseball diamond. Even then I had high aspirations of becoming a college athlete telling my parents that I wanted to play professionally some day. I know players say baseball is in their blood, but there is no truer statement for me... it is in my blood and in my heart. It has been my passion for many years and will be my passion for many to come. I have played other sports; soccer, tennis, golf, and basketball, but nothing compares to the crack of a bat, sliding into home, and playing ball with guys that have the same love for the sport as I do.
I am committed to training for my sport both on and off the field. I show my commitment to my team and coaches by putting all of my effort and attention into each practice and game. My team comes first. I respect them as athletes and want to work hard for them both on the field and in the classroom. I know I need to work as hard for them as they do for me. Sportsmanship reminds me that this is not just about me, it is about my team, coaches, and my family. I represent them all each time I play, so a positive attitude, self-control, and good character are important aspects that I possess as a player. Perseverance is important in this sport. Life has it's ups and downs and baseball is no exception. I know that I need to work hard when the going gets tough, and be mindful of the goals I set for myself each practice, each game, and each season.
My HS Freshman season allowed me to become more well- rounded player, playing all infield and outfield positions, including pitcher. I was awarded Defensive Player of the Year for the 2022-2023 season. For my summer travel team I play in the outfield and am our lead off batter. I plan to keep working hard on my achievements through high school and intend on improving my stats and further develop my baseball knowledge so that I can be an important part of my team.
In school I plan on getting more involved with clubs and committees that will help me develop my leadership skills and allow me to work with a students and staff on experiences that will better my school. I likewise will carry this goal onto college where I want to major in a sports related field.
I want to attend a college that will support my passion for baseball, allow me to grow as a student and find my purpose in life whatever that may be.
