Maddex Prince '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing baseball since I was five and ever since I had picked up the baseball, I fell in love with the game. Up until this past year, I have been a multi-sport player at the travel level in both Hockey and Baseball but have chosen to focus my skills and development on Baseball. My goal is to take baseball to the next level not only with the skill of being a baseball player but the academics to be able to attend College or University. Setting my goals and focusing on becoming the best student athlete will help me to obtain a degree in business and challenge me on and off the field. I push myself to be the best leader I can be and help out anyone who needs it such as with studies or with baseball. I am determined to do this with the work ethic that I have and push everything beyond my max.

During game play, whether I am fielding, hitting or pitching, my strength is always to understand the situation and remain in control. Even while pitching, under pressure and being able to stay calm on the mound, even when I am struggling, allows me to focus and control the game. When pitching, I love the challenge of facing batters, understanding situations and painting the corners while hiding the ball from the mound. Another strength that I like to use on the mound, is the ability of me being able to throw two different types of breaking balls. I throw a curveball that ranges from 70-72 mph and my slider that ranges from 72-75mph, with a fastball that is around 80-84mph. I am able to control my pitches pretty well and only will improve as I develop as a player. I am a very quick learner and a good listener so I am able to adjust and make decisions that are required from my coaches.

I am a leader who tries to push my teammates to the limits on and off the field, I try and make everyone the best player they can be while improving on myself also. Off the field, I work very hard to keep all of my homework and grades up to date and to the best ability. I am a very respectful, kind and motivated person who likes to get involved in my community whether I’m working, helping out a friend or volunteering, I want to help and love to spread my knowledge in any which way I can.
