Baseball is a big part of mine and my family's life. I started to play baseball when I was 5 years old. I developed into a competitive player and was successful in securing a roster position with my club team at AA level (12U); and subsequently won the Ontario Baseball Provincial championships that year. Following I moved up to the AAA level for club ball and have played there for the past 4 years.
Every year since playing 12U and beyond I have been successful in playing on the All Star team. This included playing in the CDN National Championships for PeeWee (13U) and being a qualifier for the CDN National Championships ( 15U). In 2018 I was part of the York Simcoe Baseball Assn Allstar Team (15U) that qualified to play in the Ontario Summer games. While I play club ball, I also play High School Varsity ball a both a mid fielder and outfield. This past year I was awarded the Coaches Choice Award for the varsity team at St. Joseph's High School in Barrie, Ontario.
As I have matured as a player, I have been keen to look for opportunities to increase my player development. This included playing with Nomadic Baseball this past July 2019 when I traveled to Denver Colorado to represent the international roster. I most enjoyed meeting and playing with a diverse group of teammates from other cultures and learning from new Coaches that brought a fresh ideas to help me grow as a player and a sportsman. This has also helped me gain some perspective about what it would be like to play college ball. This past season I was the team leader in stolen bases with a total of 66. My personal goal for my 60 yard dash time are to improve to <6.8 or better. I train in the off season in our local indoor training centre and hope to go to a school that can offer me continue to develop.
My goal is to study Sports Management while contributing to a university baseball roster. Finding a match with both academics and athletics is my goal (NCAA ). I recently accepted a baseball scholarship offer at Lewis & Clark College. I look forward to developing as a player and keeping baseball a big part of my career as I mature, learn and grow. This year as a junior at Lewis & Clark Junior College in Illinois I am focusing being back on the field in the American midwest MWAC loop . My family is my biggest supporter of my development; both my parents and my older sister, encourage me to be the best I can. As a team mate I think I bring a strong technical understanding of the game but also a personal sense of sportsmanship and a positive up beat vibe. I personally think developing a trust and synergy with your teammates and coaching staff is what makes a team stronger and closer to achieving its goals.
Looking forward to my next step is where I will be for Sept 2024 with NCAA opportunities.
