Emilio De Matteis '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name's Emilio, I'm a 5'5 catcher out of Ottawa Ontario looking to play collegiate level ball!

I've had a passion for baseball since I was 4 years old... Since then I've became a bigger and bigger fan of the sport and have gotten to a higher level of competition. I currently play for the Ottawa Knights AAA baseball organization!

Since I was 6, I've been a catcher and have improved my skills more and more! My highest skill set in catching is receiving, my goal when I'm in game is to properly receive the pitch and frame it to where the umpire is able to give the call the pitcher and club desire. 

Academically, my skills on the field also reflect on my grades! In grade 6 I was awarded artist of the year, I wish to continue that while achieving a major in graphic design, I also prove amazing grades in math and have always finished with a math grade above A-! I always do my best in school to keep my grades elevated as high as possible to maintain the average I desire! In 2022 my 8th grade studies I average an 84% overall which is considered an A-! I go to a french school (Paul-Desmarais) and I am perfectly bilingual. 

I was also in a cadet program, I was with the NLCC kingsmill for almost 3-4 years! I finished there program there as a Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class (CPO2)!
