When I think about my collegiate goals and aspirations, I imagine my self studying Kinesiology and Athletic training because it is important to me to not just keep sports in my life, but to also deepen my understanding of how to offer support and training to other athletes.
I believe that I would be a good candidate for your athletic program, not just because of the skills that I have as a baseball player, but also because of who I am as a person. I am very grateful to be playing with the Elite team that I am a part of because of what I had to do to become a part of this team. When I was playing with other clubs, there were times when I was placed on the roster as a Sub because that was how the team count was organized. Being a Sub taught me a lot about the importance of showing up and being ready to play even when I did not know if I would get to play. It also taught me about being a positive, enthusiastic voice whether I was on or off the field.
I am someone who is able to persevere and to move myself forward in the direction that I want to go. When I learned that the try outs for the Elite team that I am now on were on the same day that I was scheduled to play for a different team, I called the Elite team and asked if there was another time when I could try out. I was given a private try out and once I was accepted on the team, took advantage of private lessons that they made available.
Covid 19 slowed everything down for a while, but it did not slow down my ability to improve myself as a baseball player. When my city was in lockdown for a number of months, I had to train on my own. By using the techniques that my team taught to me I was able to improve my physical fitness level, my upper body strength and my pitching arm.
I believe that I would be a good candidate for your team because I am willing to do the hard work that it takes to be the best that I can be as an athlete and a human being. Thank you for considering me as a candidate for your team.
