My name is Jackson Painter and I am in grade 12 at Donald A Wilson Secondary school in Ontario, Canada. I maintain a 3.0 GPA in school and work hard at any sport or activity. I have an excellent work ethic, I am very determined and use sound judgement.
I think I am different from other recruits my age because I put my full effort into my schooling and sports. Coming into my senior year of high school I’ve learned to push myself harder academically and physically because I know I need to do more to reach the goals I have set for myself.
I am a French Immersion student, so when I graduate I will speaking two languages fluently. This will help me in the future as it will give me more opportunities in school and in and in the workforce. I feel this gives me an advantage over other students, because learning a second language takes dedication and tenacity, two qualities I know I have.
I will continue to put my full effort into school and baseball. I have a goal of playing baseball in College and know that I cannot slack off in any areas of my life if I want to reach this goal. I will do whatever it takes to make my goals my reality.
Below is a letter from one of my current coaches:

To whom it may concern
Dear Sir or Madam:
Re: Jackson Painter
It is my pleasure and privilege to provide this letter of reference for Jackson.
I have known Jackson for over nine years now, initially meeting him when I was an
assistant coach on our AAA Junior Rookie baseball team. I continued to coach Jackson
in baseball for a couple more years, and stayed associated to the team as a parent until my
son stopped playing. Over the last four years, my son and Jackson have been on the same
club basketball team, and I have coached him with that team as an assistant coach over
the last two seasons.
I can say that throughout the time I have known Jackson (from 8 to 17), I have always
been impressed by his work ethic and competitiveness. In both baseball and basketball,
Jackson would and does take extra reps to improve his game. He continually works hard
at improving his skills and is not satisfied to rest on his talent alone. Beyond that,
Jackson has always proven to be a good teammate, in the true meaning of the word.
Indeed on our basketball team he continually demonstrates leadership both on and off the
floor and is one of our "glue guys.
Although Jackson has a very high "compete" level, his competitiveness and desire to
excel does not cause rancor with others. He is supportive of his teammates and
recognizes and focuses on the goal of how best we can succeed as a team. Like any
competitive young player he does not like to lose, but he takes the lessons from those
times to help improve his game and the team for the next outing. He continually
impresses me with his IQ; he is a very intelligent player and understands the intricacies of
the game. This complements his physical skills perfectly.
