Baseball has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old. I’ve been dreaming someday about playing college baseball. That dream started when I was young in going to Oregon State Beaver games and learning to love the game. My goals, since the beginning, have been to play the game with passion and to contribute to the team. The list has expanded a bit now adding on wanting to get a degree in Business Management or Agricultural Business Management and to play college baseball.
I have several strengths that I believe I bring to the team and one would be my leadership ability. An example of my leadership is in football where my team has had only senior captains for such a long time until I earned the title of being one of the captains as a junior. Another attribute that I believe will help the team is letting my play do the talking. When I play the game it isn’t just about what I’m doing, but what others are doing and how the team is doing. My last attribute that I bring to the team is being a good example on and off the field. I strive to better myself on and off the field with getting to practice early and staying late while bringing the aspect of also succeeding in the classroom. In that, I also want others to succeed so that the team can be better so if they need help I am willing to do so. I want to also be the best player I can so I do my best to listen to as much advice I can so that I can get better. My baseball skill would include being a utility player.
My background has been playing baseball and football while having hobbies such as hunting and fishing. The times were I’m the happiest is in the outdoors, even if it’s not hunting or fishing, but working with my dad on the farm or with my grandpa on his forestland. My rural upbringing has limited my participation of club baseball to some degree, but has taught me life lessons such as hard work and perseverance. In addition, attending a private school where academics are held in high regard has taught me how to study. Where I attend school there are no exceptions for star athletes, everyone must meet academic standards.Thank you for your consideration.
