I am Elijah Smidt. I was born in Tucson Arizona and from day one, my dream was to play for the New York Yankees. I want to also have a college experience at any D-1 college, my current top pick is Florida State University. The year 2022 has been the greatest year playing baseball to date. I was chosen to and play on a USA team and traveled to the Dominican Republic. While playing I had the third best batting AVG (420) and had no errors in the field, started at second base, and bated third in the line up. I also joined River City Athletics a travel team in Washington State. I have learned a lot and had many great opportunities to see other kids around the country. This fall ball season I had the best batting AVG (531) and had one error out of the best kids in the North West.
Last school year, I ended the year with a 4.0 and this school year I am working very had to get a 4.0. For any college I attend, or team I am on, I will work my hardest academically and athletically. I am currently uncertain about what I want to study in college, but do have a strong desire to learn and grow. I am often reminded of a quote by the great Kobe Bryant. He wrote, "No matter how hard you work, I will always work harder!" I have a competitive fire in me and it ignites my efforts and hard work. This is true in any aspect of my life.
