It is very difficult for me to talk about myself. It's not something that comes natural to me and I hope it never does. I've always been taught to reflect humility in everything that I do, so trying to reflect humility while I'm writing about myself is very difficult for me to do. My identity is not wrapped up in baseball, but it is defined by the things that I love which is God, my family, my friends, hunting and fishing along with baseball. Along with humility, I also want the fact that I am driven, I am a team player, I strive to improve, and I want to be the best teammate I can be, also reflected in this statement. Playing college baseball is something that I hope to do because I am not going to college for baseball, but to further my education, and to be able to play college baseball along with that would be a dream come true. I have been told that I am an extremely coachable person, and I hope to stay that way.
I've been involved in sports for as long as I can remember, and I've recognized in the last couple years that baseball is the sport I accel in. I've always been put on the mound because I'm the "tall lefty" but I have had very minimal instruction. Over about the last year I have had a pitching coach and I have seen drastic improvements. I've been able to get help with when my hands break from my glove, to really push off toward my target and to really finish, to stand tall, to stay closed, and to get on top of my curveball. And even now I am polishing up things like tucking my glove and developing a curveball. I feel that I have a chance, with proper coaching, hard work and dedication, I could compete at the collegiate level. I want to learn as much as I can from all of the people who know baseball better than me, so I can make myself the best player I can. If I could be an asset to your program I would be honored. Thank you for reading this, and for your consideration and time.
