Personal Statement

My name is Jacob Jackson, I am a Senior at McNary High School.  My coaches and my teammates would describe me as a leader and someone who gives 110% at everything I do.  The bar is always high, and I enjoy the challenge of trying to reach the goals myself and my coaches set for me.  I love a challenge!  My #1 goal is to get a scholarship to a college that wants me for my academic and athletic achievements.  Right now, my choice of study in college is to get an exercise science/athletic training degree.

I have been enrolled in AVID (Advance Via Individual Determination) at school since the 6th grade. This program assists students in preparing them for college. The mission as a student is to commit to hard work and learn to set attainable goals.  We strive to be an independent leader and act as a model student in the classroom by being prepared, listening, asking questions and taking good notes.  This class helps me possess the desire and determination to succeed in rigorous courses.  This course is also helping me cooperate and collaborate with my peers as part of a team.

I have completed the standard district courses which include Honors such as Social Studies, Geometry, and Chemistry.Going into my senior year first semester I will be enrolled in two AP courses. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.70I enjoy spending time playing sports with my teammates and continuing to improve my skills as an athlete.  I play baseball and football.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I love traveling and my favorite thing to do when I am alone is watch college athletics.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
