Personal Statement

My situation is a bit different than most student athletes. I attend a private school that specializes in teaching dyslexics. It’s a great school that has prepared me for college, but one of the disadvantages is that they do not provide any athletic resources or compete in high school sports. I live in Tualatin, OR and have played for their high school team since my freshman year. This challenge has made me into a tough competitor and a dedicated, hard worker. I have worked extensively with Mychal Gould and Jose Cepeda at Northwest Diamond Sports since 2015. I’m dedicated to baseball and school year round. My baseball philosophy is always giving 100%, doing my job for the team and constantly learning ways to improve. I understand it is privilege to play this game and that chances to progress to the next level are few. That’s why my career goals are so important to me. I plan to study business and athletic education. When I’m not studying or playing baseball I enjoying hanging out with friends, fishing and r/c cars. Tyler Anderson is a 2019 C/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Tualatin, OR who attends Tualatin HS. Large frame with strong, physical build. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.13 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with leg lift trigger, low hand set, upright set, separates well, strength shows in swing, line drive swing plane, ball jumps off the barrel on a line when squared up. Primary catcher, sets well and presents good target, efficient footwork out crouch, stays balanced through footwork and gets off quick release, clocked up to 73 mph on throws down to 2nd base. Also took reps at 1B, shows good footwork and athleticism combination, gets on top of throws, clocked up to 78 mph. Awarded Perfect Game Grade 8, Top 10 1B Velocity (1st), Top 10 Pop Time (1st), Top 10 Catcher Velocity (1st) trophies and selected for the Showcase Top Prospect Team. Tyler Anderson is a 2019 C/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Tualatin, OR who attends Tualatin HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and a strong build. Primary catcher with a low, balanced stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground with sound footwork while working towards the bag. Displayed developing fluidity while working through exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generated some on line carry to the bag topping at 70 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from first base showing smooth paced footwork while centering the baseball. Softer hands while funneling and worked through exchange with loose actions. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot produced accurate carry to the bag at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and produced good strength at contact when squared. Generated tight back spin with good carry to the gaps when creating separation at contact.
