Elias Manzueta '12 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing the sport of Baseball for many years, since I was around the age of 8 when my father signed me up for a city team. Since then, I've grown into an athlete. My life has changed and baseball has become my passion. I am 5'11 and weigh around 185 lbs; last time I was measured, my speed in 60 yards was 6.8. My past coaches have looked to me as to guide the team, they have believed in my leadership skills and to help the team to win as well. I am always excited for games and practices hence I'm there earlier than needed most of the time and start warming up or doing any sort of stretch needed. That is why I have been selected twice to the all star game, in the Spring and Fall of 2010. I have the dream to get far in baseball, I look up to it as more than a sport because for me it is a passion.

I don't have much preference of where I would like to go to college. I've always thought that I'd be better off at a medium sized school with balanced academics and athletics. That is what can describe my preferred school even though I don't abide by these strictly. Also, the financial help I receive will play a role in the institution I attend. I want to major in the Computer Science field mostly because computers have always fascinated me, I think that it would be something I can enjoy doing as a job. My goals for college is to be able to play as a freshman, but try to help the team as much as I can because after all, it takes teamwork. I'm looking into Division III and Division II institutions where I can participate in baseball.
