My name is Maxwell W. Rogers and I am 6’0 feet tall and weigh 160 pounds. My primary position is Outfield/Middle Infield but I am also a Utility Player that can play anywhere on the field when needed. I am a District Champion Winner of 2019 with Bellefonte Area High School. I have also achieved Distinguished Honor Roll and have also received the Certificate of Achievement for Academic Excellence. Baseball is a substantial part of my life and something that I cannot live without. While growing up, baseball has taught and influenced me to be the best person that I can be no matter the situation. Baseball has edified me about respect, honor, discipline, and effort. Since my parents introduced the sport to me at the age of five, I have always been playing the game. My father played Baseball as a teenager and since then has passed on his techniques to me. With the knowledge of the game and critiquing my techniques, I have become the Baseball player I am today. Through playing game after game, I have learned that I am an observant person. In any moment, I could say the number of outs, the number of runners on base, and the pitch count for the on-going batter. With this trait, I am also observant of my own ability intriguing me to push myself everyday to always be at my top level of energy and effort.
During High School, my personal goals for every semester are to learn something that I did not know before and to reach for the Highest Grade Point average that I can get. Knowledge is a powerful tool in our world today and with new knowledge that I retain everyday, gets me one step closer to reaching for the stars. I prefer to go to a smaller school and to have smaller classes because the environment is a more comfortable atmosphere than a school with a greater number of students. I also appreciate having a teacher available if I need help with a certain subject of the certain class. But, I am a very open-minded person and am open to many different types of schools. After High School, my preferred field of study is Forensic Science because Forensic Scientists apply science to help criminal investigations which also helps people by making the world a safer place. Throughout my life, I have learned that the world we live in today is a beautiful place with many wonderful aspects to it. Unfortunately, not every human being sees the potential in how wonderful the world can be. With focusing on my field of study, I could help people by making them see that even though there might be treacherous events that occur during their time on earth, there is still a ray of light in a field of darkness. Baseball to other might seem like a simple sport, but, what some see as simple, others like me see as challenging. There is always something new to learn in the game whether someone is five years old or they are thirty years old. With there always being something new to learn in the game, comes the trait of open-mindedness. Possessing this trait creates the opportunity for me to become an even more superior baseball competitor. Being open-minded helps me take in all sorts of new information that can help me be an exceptional baseball player. Even with all of the characteristics that have come about, the most influential one that has been a part of me since birth was passion. My passion for baseball is as strong as a diamond that can never be broken. I have learned throughout my career that I have a significant amount of passion for the sport of baseball and the passion will continue to be with me for the rest of my life. While living in this world, we need to find something that can give us joy and happiness. Without it, this earth would be a depressing place to live. Baseball is something that gives me that feeling of happiness and pleasure. My athletic goals are to play Baseball at the collegiate level after High School and to make an impact on a team. The sport of Baseball helps me bring out the best in me and of my ability. Being able to help a team succeed at the collegiate level gives an amazing feeling. With my abilities, characteristics, and way of thinking, I have the potential for playing at the college level and being a prominent member of any team.
