My name is Elijah Nasir Lesley. I am 6'1 and 190 lbs. I am a outfielder/pitcher. Ever since a young age, my goals was to play baseball and become great at it. I remember when I used to live in Allentown, PA, I used to go outside with my grandma and she would bring out my big, blue bongo bat and a white plastic ball and she would pitch it to me 100 times everyday and I used to wake up my neighbors because of how hard I used to hit the ball. I was always known as a great baseball player around the area. I have speed, hustle, a live bat, and a great arm. My freshman year in High School, I made the JV team. It was a great experience. And, I was a big impact for the team as one of the talented players. Sophomore year, I thought I had enough talent to make Varsity but I made JV. I was the captain, lead 2nd in doubles and lead 3rd in most ABs. My coach, Coach Rusnak believed in me the whole time I was on JV. Now, as I went out for the varsity team, KNOWING I had the talent to play varsity, I got cut. I was very shocked. I needed a explanation. I didn't make the team because I never came to the scrimmages and he never saw me play because I spent most of my time was playing for my traveling team. But, he said it wasn't because of my talent. So now since I'm cut, people think I can't play college ball now and think I don't have talent anymore. I always have confidence in myself and now I'm just waiting for my turn and I'm going to take it. What makes me different from other players is that I got heart and I give everything out on the field. I give 150% in everything I do on the field. And I keep good, steady grades in school. I am the real definition of a student athlete.
