Hi, my name is Cole Blence and I am currently junior at Downingtown West High School who plays for the school baseball team. My aspirations after high school are to achieve my bachelors degree in some type of engineering field--most likely civil or architectural. I am looking for a college that will push me to be the best person I can be, and get me the most prepared for my time after college. My time-management skills and my ability to work well independently will allow me to strive in and out of the classroom. My dream after college is to continue my baseball career at the professional level whether it be playing, building, or working on the science behind the game in order to improve it. Baseball has been in my life for the longest time, and I am confident that I will find myself continuing my love of the game after college.
I have been playing travel baseball since I was about nine years old and have overcome many challenges throughout those years until now. I work hard on achieving any goals I set for myself, and never back down when faced with a challenge. I will always give you my all, and leave everything I got on and off the field. I strive in an environment where the odds are against me because it pushes me to become better and show people I can play ball. My main goal when playing baseball--and life in general-- is to get better with each day. I always say to myself, "Be good today. Be better tomorrow." This saying pushes me to do something everyday that makes me better than the day before. I've also taken the role as the team leader in past years and enjoy being in this role. I take pride in motivating my players to become better, and carrying the team spirit on my back. I will always have my teammates backs, and will push them to become a better ball player, but most importantly, a better person.
The college I think would be the best fit for me will allow me to feel accomplished whenever I reach my academic and athletic goals; and will always encourage me to have goals. I am also looking for a college that is full of people who will assist me in becoming a better person, and allow me to do the same for them. I am confident that I can compete at the collegiate level because I motivate myself to become better, and will not allow myself to waste my baseball knowledge on a school where I do not get better every time I step onto the field.
