My name is Colin Bull from the 2023 graduating class of Phoenixville Area High School in Phoenixville, PA and I have a passion for the game of baseball. In my search of where to attend college, I am looking for the best fit experience that will prepare me for my future career while being able to continue playing the game of baseball that I love.
I began playing baseball when I was 5 and competitive/travel baseball when I was 8 years old. I’ve had the opportunity to play with some great teammates and coaches against a high level of competition. Over the past 5 years I've played in the local Babe Ruth League, for my Phoenixville school teams, Complete Game of PA Baseball Academy and American Legion. Each of these teams has provided me the opportunity to continue to develop as a player and to play with different teammates and coaches.
I've also had the unique opportunity to play in national events including the Baseball Youth Future Games and All American Games, PBR PA State Games as well as Perfect Game, PBR, MSI and ELITE showcases. I really enjoyed these events and I learned a lot by playing alongside elite talent from all over the United States. I performed well in these special events and was recognized with PG All Tournament Team honors and Gold Glove, Sportsmanship awards for the 2023 class.
I am a very versatile player and primarily play middle infield and centerfield in addition to pitching. As an experienced pitcher, I have demonstrated the physical and mental ability to be a starter, reliever or closer; whatever the team needs from me. I've proven I'm able to start a game and go deep into the game and also shown that I can come into the last inning with runners on base and no outs and save the game. I love running the bases and being aggressive.
As much as I enjoy playing baseball, I also work hard in the classroom. I graduated from middle school with honors and in the top 10% of my class. I was able to do this while playing on both the 7th and 8th grade baseball and basketball teams. In high school, I am taking all Honors and AP classes and currently have a 3.8 GPA. I volunteer in my community, am a junior umpire for our little league, Vice President of our Government Club and nominated to join the National Honor Society. I am interested studying CyberSecurity and Sports Broadcasting/Journalism as a career. I have been doing play-by-play for my high school football and basketball games on Phantom TV.
Playing baseball in college is something I've dreamed of and worked hard to achieve. All of my skill development and experience to date has been intentional with preparing me to play at a high level against the best competition. I want to be the teammate everyone wants to take the field with and the player every coach loves to coach. I am hard working, passionate and coachable. The ideal school for me will have both my majors and provide me the ability to play baseball against a high level of competition.
