Luke Czachor '22 Recruiting Profile

From a young age I loved playing all sports. I began playing travel soccer at 5 years old then got involved in little league baseball a few years later. The moment I realized I wanted to focus on baseball and play at a collegiate level was when I met former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels. I was fortunate enough to attend Hamel’s pitching clinics, when I was 9 and 12 years old. It was surreal for me to meet him in person; a left-handed pitcher (just like me) who played for my hometown team, The World Champions Philadelphia Phillies. When I got my chance to talk to him, he told me he grew up in California playing soccer then started baseball and fell in love with pitching. It was so cool to be able to relate to one of my idols. His love of the game, his passion for competing at the highest level, his hard work and dedication to be the best; all of these traits stuck with me.

I work hard every day and will continue to push myself on and off the field in order to reach my goals; to study Engineering at an academically challenging college while playing baseball.
