As an Australian I began playing baseball only in my teens. I fell in love with the game and knew I had to do something pretty extreme to achieve my aim of maximising my potential. I did not do well at high school in Australia, but I was lucky enough to gain a place at Scotland Campus in Pennsylvania with Coach Todd Weldon in 2018. My marks improved dramatically and I gained velocity and accuracy whilst working on my favourite breaking and curve balls. Because of my high school grades in Australia my GPA wasn't what I wanted. My work wasn't done. Thanks to some great help from the academic advisors I was accepted at Central Penn College for an accelerated academic program. During my first term at Central Penn I have not only gained 20 pounds and improved my grades, I have also sharpened my focus even more and committed to continuing my journey at a 4-year school.
I believe that I have qualities that have helped me achieve things so far. I am quietly determined, I am willing to work hard and I am able to take the advice given to me by my coaches and put it into practice. I am aware that I am still developing as a player, particularly with regards strength, and my aim is to maintain my unique ability to move the ball whilst improving my power. I enjoy being part of a team and understand that baseball is a team sport and that we need to work together to succeed.
My goals are to play competitively at the college level and to continue to develop my pitching to become the most successful and disciplined pitcher that I can. Academically it has been baseball that has turned my attitude around and inspired me to focus on my learning. My aim for my time at college is to continue to pursue higher education and achieve a professional degree.
My passion for baseball has given me the chance to move across the world and to believe that I can achieve both athletically and academically. I aspire to be the best player and citizen that I can.
