Kellan Smith '24 Recruiting Profile

I started playing t-ball when I was 4 years old and when I was seven I was asked to play on our local 8yr old tournament team. This is where my love for the game started! I have had the privilege to be a part of 2 teams that made it to the Cal Ripken World Series from our local area league.   At 9 my parents allowed me to start playing on a travel team in the summer.  This really started improving my game by starting to see much stronger competition.  A few years ago  I moved up from my baseball age to my graduating age to continue to challenge myself.  Over the years I have played multiple positions, I am a universal player who will play where my coaches need me to play.  For example when I was younger I was a catcher, over the years I played different positions until a couple of  years ago when my travel team needed a catcher and I stepped in and filled that position.    This past year I have started to train more at middle infield because of my quick mobility and my good hand eye coordination.  My coaches also tell me that I have fast hands which makes me a good hitter. 

  I am also a multi-sport athlete also playing golf and basketball.  I love to snowboard in the winter and spend time with my family and friends, being involved with my church youth group and helping my Grandfather out with things around his farm and house. 

 My plans going forward is to Major in Elementary Education and play college baseball.
