My name is Haziel David Cruz Mendez and I'm 16 year old, currently I'm attending Notre Dame High school at Caguas Puerto Rico. I've been playing baseball since I was 3 years old. For me baseball is a game that I love and play with a lot of passion, and it has become a big part in my life. So is no surprise that I dedicate a lot of time along with my family to keep me focus in my goals in the game. Through out all my years I have gained a lot of respect for the game and with the help of my previous and current coaches I have become a better human being, inside and outside the field. I started to play in second base position till I was 10 years old and then my coaches saw my fast reaction and speed, they decided to move me and train-me into the center field position. Thanks to that change and since then I've caught the eyes of a lot of other coaches in and out of the country which I feel very humble and thankful the all my development and dedication has pay off. Today I still play center field position and first at bat in the line-up.
In my young career as baseball player we have been bless to travel to a lot of places in and out of the country always with the support of my family. One of these events were at the Caribbean Baseball series tournament in 2014, were we finish on second place on the tournament representing Puerto Rico. I have also play in the Perfect Games and Florida Marlins tournaments. In 2016 I won fastest man price 12u international and as recently in 2019 our team of Puerto Rico won the Super 25 tournament. In the past season of November 16, 2019 I was placed at the all star game AA junior of Puerto Rico I was the youngest of the team with 15 years old and an avg. of .429 in the season . I love the game but also do have a lot of discipline toward my education which I have always considered to go hand to hand. Thanks to these I have been bless to help my parents with an awarded scholarship at my current private school. They have sacrifice a sweat and tears with me in my career to be the best athlete and person that I can.
I which to keep achieving goals in my life and growing up as an athlete, never stop learning and use all new tools that my future coaches at college will provide me to along the college team we can achieve a successful season years.
