Ever since I was introduced to the beautiful sport of baseball I’ve cherished with all my heart. It allows me to forget everything happening outside the field and lets me be free. It lets my mind roam free and truly appreciate the game for what it’s suppose to be: a fun pastime. All my years playing this amazing sport has let me become a better person off the field. The game has taught me qualities like discipline and leadership are reinforced while on the field. Spending time with teammates, the ups and downs, the successful and not so successful moments are what makes the game truly enjoyable. My favorite player over the years has been Derek Jeter because of the position he played, where he played and the way he carried himself on and off the field,, his example always drove me to be the best player/athlete possible; my take on his quote, even though some people might have more talent than me, the work I put in everyday makes me rival those with natural born talent. It doesn’t require extreme abilities for people to play the sport. It is a free sport that anyone can play and enjoy. The change it has brought to my life is for the best and I hope that it is the same for other people. I hope to keep developing my abilities to the next level all the while this sport teaches all it has to offer and I’m forever grateful for falling in love with this amazing pastime.
