Connor Smith '19 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'2" RHP who consistently pitches with precise location and extraordinary ball movement from Brentwood, TN graduating in 2019. I currently have a 0.41 ERA this summer season playing for the Knights Platinum 17U team, and finished my second consecutive HS varsity season with a sub 2 ERA against some of the toughest competition in the state and a 4.3 GPA in an honors program at one of the strongest academic schools in the state.  I’m excited to continue gaining strength and speed so that I can continue to contribute and grow as an upperclassman this year.   

The highlight of my high school career (so far) has been pitching in four outings in the Tennessee State Championship tournament - one was a complete game, and all were vital to getting my team to the championship game 2 years straight.  Despite the excitement from being part of the team during the State Championship win, I’ve grown more as a baseball player by seizing opportunities on the high school field to use my ability to precisely locate and consistently draw ground balls and fly balls for clutch wins.   

My short-term goals include working hard in the weight room to increase my pitch speed. Though I don’t yet know what I will be majoring in, a strong academic program is as important to me as a strong athletic program. My continued commitment to teamwork, integrity, character, and work ethic will help me lead the next generation of your team!
