To whom it may concern,
My name is Daryn Glapa. I live in Clarksville, TN where one of the largest Army installations is located. I have played baseball for the past 12 years on various teams to include little league, travel teams, and my middle and high school baseball teams. I was able to play on multiple all-star little league teams and two of those teams made it to the state championship with us coming in as runner up winners. My opportunity for middle school baseball was a bit challenging as I didn’t make the team for my 6th grade year. I was able to better myself and made it on the seventh and eighth grade baseball team as a pitcher only and was able to hone my skills in that position. My challenges didn’t stop there because when I tried for the freshman baseball team I was 5’2’ and 125 pounds and wasn’t picked up for that team. I grew from that adversity worked out three times a week and saw a personal pitching teacher weekly until the following year for tryouts. I then had the opportunity to tryout for my sophomore year and was selected to play as a pitcher only position for my high school. I grew from the adversity that I was challenged with and learned to focus on myself and take the next step to playing at the college level.
I am glad that I have had the opportunity to be part of a wonderful baseball program throughout my high school years so far. I learned to work together and sacrifice anything for my teammates. I’m looking for a college baseball program that will fit me academically and athletically. I believe that I could not only help my team on the field but also have a good attitude and leadership skills to help the program out.
My goal over the last year in high school is to find a college that I can play baseball at the highest level possible. I am open to most locations and interested in playing baseball at the collegiate level. This will allow me to do what I love as well as get my education. My career path is Animal Science that will lead me to become a veterinarian. As an athlete and student, I believe I have what it takes to be a leader in your baseball program.
Sincerely,
Daryn Glapa
