Stix TrainingPersonal Statement
I have wanted to pitch in the MLB since I was four years old. I have been swinging a bat since I could pick it up. I love baseball.
My mental toughness on the mound and my work ethic set me apart. I always want the ball and fight for more innings on the mound. I am humble and confident when I am out there pitching. I field my position well, know what to do with the ball, and know where to be. I wear #31 in honor of Greg Maddux (the greatest pitcher born in Texas). My dad has taught me to always be the first one to practice and the last one to leave. No one will out work me.
I take pride in being extremely coachable and respectful. I have already had great opportunities to work with fantastic coaches, some with big league experience (Rick Bauer, Tim Crabtree, Rusty Greer, Ryan Drese). I am so thankful and do not take anything for granted. I want to constantly improve. I handle adversity well. I am always a great teammate and team leader.
In school, I take predominantly advanced classes. By the end of my junior year, I will have completed 9 AP classes. I also have taken three years of Spanish.
My goal is to attend a competitive college, both academically and athletically.
