I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember. I first dreamed about playing college baseball when I was eleven years old and my Little League All Star team went to the state tournament for the first time in the history of our county. Six years later in high school, the same group of teammates won the District Championship for the first time for our school in fifteen years. While I don't normally pitch, I closed that District Championship game. I was our fourth pitcher of the game, and I got the save. After all those innings over all those years with my teammates it was great to be part of another team victory. I had to move out of my comfort zone and do what was needed to help my team. The importance of being a good teammate is a lesson I learned over those years that I will take with me as I prepare for college and new experiences.
Since that championship game this past May, I have been working hard to take the next step toward my dream of playing in college. I’ve been working out, playing travel ball, and going to camps. I’ve also been doing a lot of research on schools and their baseball programs. I am searching for a school that will be a good academic fit and that will give me a chance to be part of a new team where I can contribute and help build something bigger than just my line on a box score.
