Personal Statement

My college years will be a period of personal growth. I will succeed in a business or engineering program that will position me well for improving and developing our countries energy infrastructure. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college baseball career, I will strive to be an asset to the coaches, team, pitchers, defense, and batting line-up. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.

The highlight of my baseball career continues to be overcoming limitations and pessimism from others through leadership, actions on the field and a willingness to work for success no matter what it takes. Some notable limitations that I’ve heard from others and overcome include:

  • As a freshman, I was too young to win the starting catchers job over an incumbent Senior and we lost too many players to return to postseason play after a two-year absence;
  • As an 8th grader, I was too young to win the starting catchers job over an incumbent Sophomore;
  • As a 14U player, there was no way we could win the East Coast World Series against a majors team since we were out of pitching and our catcher had to pitch;
  • As an 11 year old, our team was too young to win the State Dixie Championship and compete in the Ozone World Series;
  • As a 9-year-old, our team was too young to win the State and Complete in the AAA World Series.

The list above is a small sample of overcoming odds during my career where I’ve learned to know exactly who I am, to become addicted to achieving success and not to be intimidated by pressure or limitations from others.

I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a two-sport athlete and captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
