Chandler Heath Hatfield '14 Recruiting Profile

My dreams, goals and aspirations are to play baseball for a university/college while furthering a solid education. I of course have dreams of continuing my baseball career past college by either playing or coaching in the future. Once obtaining a position in my chosen career, I want to give back to the sport and future athletes. I have been fortunate to have some wonderful coaches, who not only taught me about the game of baseball, but also by being great role models. These men have had a positive impact on my game and life on and off the field. I have a goal to do the same for other players someday. It is important to me to give back to my family, the community, these men and my educators who have all added to where I am today. They have all believed in me and I will show them my appreciation by continuing to be a person with high morals, values and aspirations while also passing onto others as they have to me. I am pursuing an education/career in the Medical Profession. I have a passion for Medicine because I am driven to help and/or heal others.

I enjoy success on and off the field...in and out of the classroom. I'm a determined individual. Life is a great journey and I want to do my best in all aspects of it but definitely take time to appreciate it and be thankful.

Volunteering in youth leagues has been an important part of my life. I started volunteering in the Augusta County Parks and Recreational league when I was in the 7th grade. My first coaching experience was assistant coaching with my father for my two sisters.  I have done everything from cleaning the floors, keeping the official book, running the clock and coaching as many as 3 teams in a season with ages ranging from 8 years old to 14 years old, both girls and boys. I am a volunteer basketball coach with the Waynesboro YMCA now.
