Joshua Kukes '19 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to obtain my undergraduate degree at a university that provides me with a Sports Medicine/ Business education/ Teaching education, while playing college baseball. I don’t know 100% which of those three topics I want to go after but I know I have a strong interest in all three. My teachers and coaches will all tell you that I work hard and have had to overcome a lot in school due to illnesses and moving and baseball due to moving and trying to break into a new organization. I was elected team captain for the Eastmont Strikers before moving to Southridge High School. I love baseball and have played since I was big enough to pick a baseball up. I grew up a pitcher/catcher until I was 13. Due to injury I switched to second base/ Shortstop until this year when I moved to a new school. I have been finding my niche and place in left field. Throughout the summer I will be working and playing tournament baseball. I am a good student and have a 3.5 GPA with advance placement classes. I have worked hard after a move in the middle of the school year to maintain my grades and break into a very solid baseball program. I look forward to continuing my baseball career. I consider myself “baseball smart”, it is something that cannot be taught. I am coachable and always striving to be better than the day before. I have that fire you are looking for in a player.
