Jonathan (JD) Mer...Personal Statement
I'm Jonathan Merwin but I go by JD. I am a center fielder and go to Monroe High School in Monroe Washington. I am 5'9" and 150 pounds. I have played on the varsity baseball team for two years now after being called up from the JV team half way through my sophomore season. My sophomore season I was voted captain by my teammates for not just the JV baseball team, but also was voted captain for the JV basketball team. I am a person who likes to lead by example, but will be a vocal leader when needed.
Baseball is a game that I have grown to love throughout the years. Baseball has taught me many things for life on and off the field. I have learned to become mentally strong, a leader, a good teammate, and coachable. I'm a player who will put the ball in play and make things happen. With the help of my speed I have turned into a very good defensive player, and have been very effective on the base paths. I'm excited to continue to play the game I love in college while getting a good education.
