My first exposure to baseball was watching my older sister's games. I loved the team aspect, and that my sister was really good. As I grew older I started appreciating more of what the game had to offer. I enjoyed pitching most because every pitch is a chance to prove your dominance over opposing hitters. Every at bat is it's own 1v1 battle with your team counting on you to win. When I learned a curveball I also learned that not only could I win those battles, but I could humiliate hitters. As I kept growing as a person and a pitcher, I learned more ways to do so. I worked on my sequencing, practiced tunneling my two-seam and cutter, and learned what's now my favorite pitch to throw to righties, a changeup. I love how much of the battle between pitcher and hitter you can't see, how much of it is mental trickery. Of course I can't pitch every game though, so I looked for other ways to make myself useful. Stealing signs and picking up tendencies is something that has helped my team win. The game within the game will always keep me engaged because baseball is such a strategic game. I'd love to keep growing as a teammate, pitcher, and person in college, and I can't wait to learn new tips and tricks at a higher level.
