I really found my love for sports freshman year. I started the year playing football and it wasn't my strength in sports but it was a good experience for me. Once I was able to play both football and basketball, my baseball season was right around the corner. I was discouraged at first because I didn't know where I was going to get placed on the teams. Freshman year, they placed me on the Junior Varsity team as a starting pitcher. That was where I knew I wanted to play baseball because I knew I had a chance.
Throughout the whole season, even when I didn't play, I did whatever I could to help my team. Whether it was cheering, pinch running because of my speed or even playing whatever position they needed me to play. I look at myself as a huge team player and doing whatever it takes to win.
I have played several sports in my high school career which gives me a wide variety of knowledge of teamwork. Even though my senior season for baseball was taken away, I still feel that I have learned a lot from basketball this year. I play baseball and basketball to have fun but I also play to become a better person and have those teamwork skills in the future.
