Alex and her mom Patricia knew they wanted to start the recruiting process, but they felt unsure of where to begin. As a mother-daughter team, they were looking for more guidance to navigate the journey. Discovering NCSA was a game-changer, helping them get Alex in front of college coaches and giving them the support they needed to move forward.
“We really didn’t know what to do until NCSA,” Alex said.
One of the NCSA features Alex and Patricia loved most was the constant access to recruiting guidance. Whether they were speaking with a personal recruiting coach or accessing NCSA’s member support tools, they never felt alone in the process.
“Someone was always available to answer me and to help us out as a family, and that makes it so much easier,” Patricia said.
Alex received guidance on the best ways to write and communicate with coaches. It gave Alex the confidence that she was reaching out to coaches properly and making a great impression.
Being the parent of a student-athlete can be overwhelming. Parents pour so much time and energy into supporting their child’s sport and staying on top of the recruiting process in addition to that can be incredibly stressful.
“You need someone to hold your hand and say, ‘Hey mom, it’s going to be OK,’ because it gets scary,” Patricia said.
Even the most talented athletes can feel discouraged when they’re not getting noticed by coaches, especially since coaches are evaluating thousands of athletes. That’s why Alex’s mom values the guidance from NCSA so much.
“You’re wondering why don’t [college coaches] see what I see and what the high school coaches see? Well, it’s because they’re looking at 1,000 kids, not just your kid. And NCSA just guides you, where it goes from “1,000, to 500, to 10 to your kid.”
Patricia was grateful knowing there was always a team behind the scenes, taking the next step to help her daughter. “It’s nice to have that support,” she said. “It takes a village, that’s for sure.”
When it comes to college recruiting, having a team of experts in your corner makes all the difference.
