About Braxton

When Braxton was just getting started in the recruiting process, he felt like he didn’t know what he was doing. That’s where NCSA came in.

“I really had no idea what I was doing,” he said. “… [NCSA] definitely jump-started my recruiting timeline for me, it helped me get my name out there and get recruited and being sought after by a lot of different schools and it led me to being a Division 1 athlete,” he said.

How NCSA Helped Braxton Get Recruited

Using NCSA was a jump start to get his name out there and find a college that was a good launching point for his track and field college career.

“The hardest thing for me when I was going through recruiting is the contact – getting to know the coaches on a personal level. The easiest thing was being able to do that through NCSA.”

Braxton used the NCSA app to contact coaches directly, taking the stress out of building those personal connections. He also used NCSA’s College Search Tool to research schools and find a wide range of opportunities, both in-state and all over the country.

“Everything is all there in the app for you to get recruited.”

Committing to a D1 Program

As an athlete striving to compete in D1, Braxton felt fortunate to use NCSA’s tools to make a significant difference in his journey. NCSA helped him discover schools that were a strong fit with his athletic and academic goals, as well as connect directly with coaching staff. He ultimately accomplished his goal of committing to a D1 track and field program.

Trusting in the Process

Looking back on his recruiting journey, Braxton is grateful that he took his time and let the process play out. He recommends that other athletes don’t rush through the recruiting process.

“I would definitely say take your time to commit to a school, as it gives you the most amount of time to get recruited,” he said.
