Hi my name is Ruth Alvarenga. I am a class of 2023 cheerleader (Flyer) at San Marin High School in Novato, California. I have been on JV for two years and now this year will be my second year on varsity. At school I am part of the STEM program meaning I would take 8 science classes total (2 every year) and 4 years of math. And I am also part of the AVID (Advancement via individual determination) program which its purpose is to prepare students for college eligibility and success. In college I plan to study psychology. I am hardworking and love to help out!
I started dancing at the age of 3 and 3 years later joined the competition team at the dance studio that I attend. This will now be my 12th year on the competition team. Thanks to all the conventions and competitions that I attended, it helped me strengthen and improve my dance experience. This was a huge advantage once I joined cheer in high school. I am a very fast learner and work very well with others. Through cheer and dance I've learned to better my confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills, and to never give up. My goals for this last year of high school is to enjoy it as much as possible while continuing to persevere both academically and athletically.
