Shae Oroy '28 Recruiting Profile

As a freshman in high school I am beyond excited to see what the next four years have in store for me. I am currently a varsity Cheerleader at Pacific Grove High School. It was important to me to try and letter in a sport my first year of high school to start my athletic journey off strong. Coming from a family of athletes i recognize the importance of training hard and staying healthy. I work towards my health and fitness goals daily to try and ensure a solid position on my squad. I am currently a flyer with some base training as well. My goal is to take cheer all the way through my college career.

Although I am a participating athlete with a rigorous practice and training schedule, my enthusiasm for academics is still strong. I maintain my grades because I know how important it is for my future, but also it's important to my team that I make the grades to remain on the squad because my position as flyer is key to performing our stunts. Since middle school I have been active in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) which is a program designed to help support myself in others as we advance forward academically and prepare us for college eligibility. I also have spent time being a tutor in the classroom.

Id liked to attend a college with a strong marine biology program. Growing up in Monterey, California has fueled my interests in marine life. I also have interest in business. Although young I have already begun my own, yet very small, online baking company that helps earn fundraise for school trips and projects.

Another strong passion I have in being active within my community. I do 20 hours or more a year of community service as required of me by my school. I also help out on occasion at local small businesses here in Pacific Grove. Im hoping to connect with some coaches and camp leaders via NCSA so I can get to know you better and develop a strong and successful collegiate career.
